Student News 16 October 2017

1. Students:

Do you suffer with low self-esteem? Are you worried about your body image? Would you like to learn how to think positively about your-self? If you answer yes to any of these questions you may wish to take part in a 6 week course – first session is on the 31st October at lunchtime. Please email AJackson@eastnorfolk.ac.uk to book a place or for more details.

2. Students:

We have recently received two complaints from the general public in relation to student behaviour and inconsiderate parking.

Spencer Avenue is the cul-de-sac opposite college, by the bridge. Concerns have been raised from residents that parents of students and students themselves are parking close to the junction of Church Lane making the entrance to Spencer Avenue difficult to enter or leave via car at the end of the college day. Parking is only allowed on one side of the road. Also students are using the first part of the road (there's a turning circle) to turn round and park up down Church Lane and appear to speed up the road and back again.
The road is normally a quiet cul-de-sac populated by elderly people but at the end of the college day parts of the road are being used as a car park.

Please will you be more considerate to the needs of local residents and if you are picked by parents please pass this request onto them.

Secondly there have been reports of offensive behaviour by students outside Boots in the High street. Complaints have been received from members of the public who report that students are very loud, present intimidating behaviour and are making offensive comments about people who are waiting at the bus stop. This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and the police will be called if this anti-social behaviour continues to be a problem.

Please ensure that your behaviour outside of college is considerate and polite to members of the public. Thank you                                                                                                                                             Lisa Bell
